Dear reader, you have probably navigated yourself to the homepage of Svenskatimmen, in order to familiarize yourself with the Swedish language. In fact you have already started your learning process within the Swedish language as Svenskatimmen stands for “The Swedish hour” in Swedish.
We would like to seize this opportunity and provide you with some pieces of information regarding the general structure of this set of lecture series. Our lectures are designed to provide our students with the fundamentals of the Swedish language, and serve as excellent tools for learning Swedish within a short timescale.
Moreover, we do not require any prior knowledge of the Swedish language, as our lecture series (unlike most language courses in Sweden) are taught in English enabling English speaking students to benefit from their knowledge of the English language. It is noteworthy to mention that our lecture series can be tailored for individual needs and follow a generic structure that focus on: learning, speaking and spelling.
All lectures are one-to-one (only one student and one instructor) and will be held via MSN Messenger™ (voice call). The lectures will familiarize each student with Swedish words, phrases and expressions. Our ambition is also to teach our students the fundamentals, upon which they can follow up with more profound linguistic endeavors.
In order to give each student the time for reflection, additional audio clips (duration: 20 minutes – 45 minutes) will be provided to students with even intervals (usually every second lecture). The audio clips are complementary instruments of instruction to our lecture series and summarize the concepts and expressions considered during the lectures and beyond. The language of instruction is English even in the audio clips.
